You’re wondering if it ever gets any easier. You might be overwhelmed, experiencing the grief or loss of a person or a relationship. You may struggle with boundaries in your personal and work life. Challenging parental relationships, family conflict and estrangement and can leave you wondering who you really are. What if we could move at your pace to uncover root causes of your current pain and return to wholeness? Having begun my own healing journey in therapy years ago, I appreciate what it feels like to be heard and understood.

I’m Vanessa. At the core of my practice is my belief in your inner wisdom and strength. I bring a holistic trauma-informed approach that sees the whole you: body, mind, and spirit. Integrating Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Emotion-focused therapy, inner child work yoga and mindfulness and several other modalities I foster a safe, healing environment.

My approach is warm and playful. I welcome laughter in our sessions. It will be my privilege to join you in your story and walk with you towards wholeness. I maintain a culturally aware, client-centred space of compassion and non-judgment for you to share and be authentic. All identities are warmly welcomed. All neurotypes are celebrated.

Gentle living to me, means that we can learn to listen to the whisper of our inner knowing and move gently towards alignment with self. Being kind to ourselves is key as we unlearn and relearn new and more beneficial ways of being.

Holistic, mind, body, spirit and environment.

As an empath, I connect to your words and attune to your expressions and body language.

I enjoy a daily meditation practice each morning that usually gets fully interrupted by my dog Nava. I feel that this has become a part of our joint morning ritual that anchors us both.

I take an active role in a local animal rescue where I foster dogs, teach puppy yoga classes and host ongoing fundraisers. I have a retro camper van that I have taken on some amazing roadtrips and I love traveling off the beaten path just about anywhere.

It will be ok. It is going to suck for a bit but you will come out the other side a different person. And this will be a lifelong journey of self-awareness that starts with being heard and understood.

At the core of my practice is the belief in each person’s inherent wisdom and strength. Our human experience can be scary, confusing, and overwhelming at times. Life transitions, traumatic events, escalating work stress, family tensions, grief and loss can seem insurmountable. However, these experiences can provide profound growth, self-awareness and transformation with the right tools.

I will collaborate with you to uncover the root causes of your presenting concerns. When we understand how our past affects our current behaviour, we can work towards more beneficial ways of being. Old behavioural patterns that once ensured our survival may no longer serve us. Uncovering those unmet needs can reveal the beginning of a return to wholeness. With insight and clarity, we will make sense of them and integrate them into a new cohesive narrative.

I aim to maintain a culturally aware, client-centred, safe space of compassion and non-judgment for you to share and be authentic and vulnerable. I advocate for normalizing therapy and de-stigmatizing mental health care. Having begun my own journey in therapy many years ago, I appreciate what it feels like to be understood and to be heard. You are no longer alone. It will be my privilege to meet your where you are on your journey and walk with you towards wholeness.
